Italian DJ and producer Riva Starr, born Stefano Miele, first entered the public eye with an EP in 2007 and has since climbed among the foremost figures in global electronic dance music on the strength of his infectious tracks and notable reworkings for artists including Usher, Major Lazer, and Dennis Ferrer. Miele sharpened his craft inside the breakbeat community, issuing material under the Madox alias on the Mantra Breaks label through the early 2000s. Turning instead toward house, he began laying down straight 4/4 rhythms under the Riva Starr name. The electro-house sound for which he would become known surfaced on his 2010 debut album If Life Gives You Lemons, Make Lemonade, issued by Made to Play. The record drew widespread critical praise and marked him as a distinctive voice in the EDM field as the 2000s wound down. Further underground successes arrived in its wake, leading to mainstream recognition in 2013 via his collaboration with Fatboy Slim on the track "Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat."
