Biography
Carole Pope handled vocals while guitarist Kevan Staples joined her to launch the folk duo O in 1968. The project assumed the name Rough Trade by 1974 and expanded to include pianist Sharon Smith, bassist Happy Roderman, and percussionists John Cessine and Marv Kanarek. Ahead of the 1984 split the band issued the albums Rough Trade Live! (1976), Avoid Freud (1981), For Those Who Think Young (1982), Shaking the Foundations (1982), Weapons (1983), O Tempora!, O Mores! (1984), and Birds of a Feather (1985).
