Sabri Riahi, a one-time professional basketball player from Brussels, Belgium, crafts polished R&B and pop shaped by trap aesthetics. Born in 1997, he suited up at age nineteen as point guard for Belfius Mons-Hainaut in the Belgium-Pro Basketball League. A personal tragedy returned him to the capital in 2016 and prompted his exit from the sport. Soon afterward a burst of creative work led him to form BW alongside Alhoumekani Nezare; their track “Oh Na Na” collected three million streams inside its first three months online. In 2019 he redirected his energies toward a solo path, issuing the singles “Elle m’a piqué” and “C’est nous” on KVZ late in the year. Twelve months after that, Polydor signed him and released the reflective, brightly lit single “Bendo.” He closed 2020 with “Fou de toi” and opened 2021 with the passion-driven “Sauna.” That July the label delivered his debut EP, Elles, a seven-track set whose songs each chronicle a separate romantic relationship. The 2022 collaboration “Ça va aller” with French rapper Udeyfa followed, and the early-2023 release “Vie” employed a wider production range than his earlier work.
