Biography
Sally Oldfield, sibling to both Terry and Michael "Tubular Bells" Oldfield, launched her recording career through contributions to multiple Michael projects during the 1970s. Those appearances helped her obtain a solo contract, which produced the 1978 album Water Bearer and the 1980 U.K. hit single "Mirrors." She further joined brother Terry on the holiday album Star of Heaven, lending her voice to a 23-minute-long version of "Ave Maria" and a soul stirring reading of "Silent Night." Additional solo albums followed across the 1980s and 1990s, while the double-disc anthology Mirrors served as her first release of the new millennium in 2001.
