Shaya zamora

Shaya Zamora crafts alt-folk material rooted in personal conviction, a quality that simultaneously fuels his songwriting approach. His expansive and evocative compositions weave in themes of spiritual pursuit, including the search for redemption, departures from moral direction, and encounters with temptation. This focus has drawn listeners well beyond the usual scope of CCM releases.

Hailing from the countryside of Washington, the songwriter has revealed only brief fragments of his personal world online, most prominently his young daughter. He took up songwriting early in life and began issuing material independently on a serious scale during 2023. Initial offerings such as “Holding On” and “Please Don’t Leave” showcased his taste for gravelly delivery paired with acoustic guitar and sparse, understated percussion. Momentum arrived abruptly with the early-2024 arrival of the EP Eulogize, propelled by the atmospheric cut “Cigarette,” which gained rapid traction across social platforms and accumulated tens of millions of streams. The succeeding release “Pretty Little Devil” nearly replicated those figures, while the follow-up “Sinner” arrived with support from the major label Atlantic.
