Sonny Geraci launched his career as lead singer of the Cleveland rock quintet the Outsiders, guiding them to a number five hit in 1966 with "Time Won't Let Me," a track that would turn up regularly on era-defining anthologies for decades afterward. The band never matched that peak, yet still placed three more singles inside the Top 40 during the same year, among them their cover of the Isley Brothers' "Respectable." Geraci earned the uncommon distinction of another Top Ten entry in 1972 with an entirely new outfit, forming the Los Angeles-based Climax whose "Precious and Few" rose to number one and received gold certification. National visibility faded after that point; he eventually resettled in Cleveland for local shows and later joined nostalgia-circuit performances, though his singular place in chart annals was already secure.
