Biography
Stick to Your Guns originated in 2003 in Orange County, California, when vocalist Jesse Barnett assembled the metalcore and screamo group. Early comparisons to Comeback Kid and Protest the Hero caught the ear of Sumerian Records founder Ash Avildsen, who booked the emerging act for a live showcase that quickly produced a label contract. Their debut album, For What It's Worth, surfaced in 2007, a period the band devoted to constant touring that sharpened their abilities and reinforced their initial momentum. A subsequent shift to the independent metal imprint Century Media brought the spring 2008 release of their second full-length, Comes from the Heart. Personnel adjustments and a return to Sumerian Records set the stage for the third studio album, the acclaimed Hope Division, issued in 2010. The fiery Diamond arrived in 2012 and included the single “Bringing You Down (A New World Overthrow),” which endorsed the Occupy Wall Street movement. John Feldmann produced 2015’s Disobedient, the band’s final Sumerian outing, after which they aligned with Pure Noise for the 2016 EP Better Ash Than Dust. True View, their sixth LP, followed the next year.
