Biography
Initially operating behind the scenes before emerging into the spotlight years afterward, the rapper STS performs under the additional name Sugar Tongue Slim. Atlanta native STS relocated to Philadelphia, where he began collaborating with the songwriting and production duo Dre & Vidal. His breakthrough arrived in 2005 via co-writing credits on the Ciara and Ludacris hit single “Oh!,” prompting him to pursue a solo path. During 2011 he teamed with Jazzy Jeff for the track “Maybe We Can” and united with Black Thought and Mick Boogie to form MMJB (Money Making Jam Boys), the crew tied to streetwear label 10 Deep. He issued the Goldrush mixtape in 2012, then partnered with the electro crew Crookers for their 2014 song “Get Excited.” The following year brought a collaboration with producer RJD2 that yielded the aptly titled album STS X RJD2.
