Sudha Ragunathan

Sudha Ragunathan, an entrancing and exciting vocalist, owes much of her visibility to the dedicated support of Dr. Winston Banchacharam, whose Amutham imprint operates from Nanuet, NY. Her training came under the guidance of the acclaimed songstress M.L. Vasanthakumari. During June 1988 the Ikankai Thamil Sangam organization in the U.S.A. conferred upon her the title Amutha Isai Vani, a Tamil acknowledgement of the nectar-sweet divinity of her voice, honoring her contributions to Tamil song. The award appears beside her on the cover of Tamil Melodies from Amutha Isai Vani Sudha Ragunathan (Amutham WS 001). Her voice delivers pure delight, and the quality of her Amutham releases makes a close listen to her AVM and EMI India catalog equally compelling. ~ Ken Hunt
