SuperHeavy

Comprising leading figures across rock, pop, and global sounds, the ensemble SuperHeavy unites Rolling Stones icon Mick Jagger and neo-soulster Joss Stone with guitarist/producer Dave Stewart, reggae artist Damian Marley, and Indian musician/composer A.R. Rahman. Stewart and Jagger’s shared enthusiasm for Indian orchestral traditions, combined with the sounds Stewart encountered in his adopted home of St. Ann’s Bay, Jamaica, prompted the group’s formation around 2009; they soon began shaping material supported by Marley’s touring rhythm section. Their first release arrived in 2011 with the self-titled debut album, which spotlighted the reggae single “Miracle Worker” alongside the Rahman-composed cut “Satyameva Jayathe.”
