Denmark's foremost hip-hop collective, Suspekt, have built a reputation around their shadowy, ferocious and at times bombastic sonic approach together with lyrics that are unapologetically brash, violent and sexual. Beginning with the self-titled debut that appeared in 1999, nearly every subsequent album has reached the top of the Danish charts while all of them have landed inside the national Top 20. The year 2023 brought both the premiere of their documentary series Skal du med and the arrival of their eighth studio album Ancient Aliens, after which they continued issuing singles such as 2024's "FLERE MÅL, 4-0."

The three members first assembled in the mid-1990s. By 1998 they had settled on their name, begun work on a debut record and launched their own label, Tabu, after Per Hjalteson persuaded Rune Rask, Bai-D and Orgi-E to pursue a professional path and arranged studio time. Tabu released the resulting 1999 album Suspekt. Once the original pressing and a second run sold out, the group spent much of the year on the road across Denmark. The tour not only spread word of their abilities but also initiated a lasting collaboration with producer Troo L.S., who would remain central to both Tabu and Suspekt. Their second album, Ingen Slukker the Stars, followed in 2003 and prompted another Danish tour; between albums two and three the group also issued its first DVD. They returned to the charts in 2007 with the Top Five collection Prima Nocte.

After Troo L.S. departed for the United States and signed with Akon's Konvict label, the remaining members joined L.O.C. to form Selvmord, which released a self-titled album in 2009. Suspekt resurfaced in 2011 with Elektra, whose orchestral arrangements were supplied by Frederik Magle. Tina Dickow appeared on the track "Helt Alene," later sampled on Kendrick Lamar's good kid, m.A.A.d city. The album topped the Danish charts and the single "Klaus Pagh" also reached number one. V arrived in 2014 and likewise claimed the top position. Both 100% Jesus in 2017 and Sindssyge Ting in 2020 extended the run of chart-topping releases. In 2023 the documentary series Skal du med debuted while Ancient Aliens entered at number two; that same year the band performed at Copenhagen's Parken stadium. Their single "FLERE MÅL, 4-0" appeared in 2024.
