Terry Draper

Success arrived for Terry Draper through his understated participation in the 1970s trio Klaatu. Their cryptic self-titled debut from 1976 ignited intense industry speculation that the band was actually the Beatles in disguise. The record achieved substantial commercial impact, yet once the truth surfaced that Klaatu was a Canadian outfit bearing no link to the Fab Four, momentum faded and the group dissolved in 1981. As the trio’s drummer, Draper shifted into roofing work until his return to recording in 1997 with the solo debut Light Years Later, which included appearances from former Klaatu members Dee Long and John Woloschuk.
