Biography
Forming in Miami, the Baboons began writing original material in the early 1990s during gigs at intimate South Beach clubs. Their debut release, Evolution, appeared in 1999 and drew favorable notices from regional outlets. The six-piece group tracked Global Gumbo in 2000, fusing the members’ hard rock and funky leanings with Latin dance rhythms. More than fifteen years afterward, the band’s third album, Spanglish, was cut at Miami’s Red Door Studios and surfaced in 2016.
