Biography
The vocalists Zoe Ellis and Caitlin Cornwell formed the dance-pop duo the Braids while participating in the Bay Area funk unit the Mo'fessionals. Stephan Jenkins from Third Eye Blind joined them as producer in 1996 for an R&B-infused rendition of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody," which found its way onto the soundtrack for the comedy High School High and fell just short of the Top 40. Although plans for a full album were in motion, Third Eye Blind's rising popularity pulled Jenkins away for touring commitments, pausing the Braids' progress until his eventual return enabled the 1999 release of their Atlantic debut Here We Come.
