Biography
Fronting the Constellations is vocalist Elijah Jones, whose Atlanta-based collective fashions eclectic, rhythmic electro-rock that evokes Beck, Gnarls Barkley, and the Heavy. Drawing on a rotating roster of local pop, hip-hop, and rock players, the group enlisted several contributors—including Cee-Lo and rapper Asher Roth—for its debut album, Southern Gothic. Jones directed the project while Grammy-winning producer Ben H. Allen manned the console; the sessions took place in 2008 and yielded a release on Allen’s Make Records Not Bombs imprint. Two years later the Constellations reissued the album under EMI’s aegis. Their sophomore set, Do It for Free, arrived in 2012 and spotlighted the single "Right Where I Belong."
