Biography
A five-member ensemble from Washington, D.C., secured a contract with Motown during the early 1970s yet registered only modest chart activity on the soul listings. Although their singing lacked the expressive range of the Temptations or the Four Tops, the group distinguished itself through sharp stagecraft and strikingly original, high-energy dance routines. Their most singular trait was a gay frontman who regularly took the stage in drag.
