Biography
Hailing from Boston, the alternative rock quintet The Ivory Coast unites five musicians whose varied origins shape the group’s identity. Jay Cox supplies guitar and vocals, Scott Craggs handles synthesizer, Drew O'Doherty covers guitar, Nick Hubben plays bass, and Mahmood Shaikh sits behind the drums. The musicians blend a jangly guitar pop sound layered with reflective lyrical imagery. Their debut album The Rush of Oncoming Traffic, completed in 1998, reached listeners only after two further years had elapsed.
