The Murder Junkies earned their chief recognition as the final ensemble backing shock rocker G.G. Allin. They persisted after his death from a drug overdose in June 1993. Upon his release from prison in the early 1990s, Allin sought to restart his recording and touring activities, prompting his brother Merle Allin to form a supporting group. Merle took the bass chair, Dino Sex handled drums, and William Weber played guitar while maintaining his parallel role in the Chrome Cranks. Performing as G.G. Allin & the Murder Junkies, the lineup completed multiple tours between 1991 and 1993, released the studio album Brutality & Bloodshed for All, and appeared in the documentary Hated. Footage in Hated together with the later album Res-Erected documents the short-lived participation of former Ramones bassist Dee Dee Ramone, who joined on guitar.

Following Allin’s death the Murder Junkies continued under several successive vocalists. Antiseen frontman Jeff Clayton became the first; the Clayton-fronted edition finished a two-week tour in mid-1995, after which Clayton returned to Antiseen. Weber then introduced former Pagans member Mike Hudson as the next singer, yet Hudson’s time with the group proved brief. Newcomer Mike Denied took the microphone next, only for Weber to depart in late 1996 and resume full-time duties with the Chrome Cranks. To date the Murder Junkies have issued the seven-track EP Feed My Sleaze and the three-track single The Right to Remain Violent. Merle Allin separately operates a tape-trading enterprise devoted to video documents of his brother.
