The Silvertones

Initially, the Silvertones cut tracks for Duke Reid and scored a hit with "True Confession." The lineup featured Keith Coley, Gilmore Grant—who authored several of their songs such as "Stop Crying" and "Smile"—and bass singer Delroy Denton, the latter of whom departed prior to the close of the 1990s. After parting ways with Duke Reid, they tracked the Silver Bullets album at Lee "Scratch" Perry's studio. The Silvertones further laid down material for Studio One beginning in the mid-'60s and continuing through the end of the '90s.
