Biography
Emerging in the 1970s alongside numerous other funk ensembles from Dayton, Sun never reached the same heights attained by comparable acts. Between 1976 and 1984 the group issued a steady stream of recordings on Capitol yet never landed a substantial hit single. Their strongest showing came with “Sun Is Here,” which peaked at number 18 on the R&B charts in 1978. One further attempt, the 1984 release Air City, also failed to connect.
