Biography
Originating from a small town near Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the Trodden Path issued a lone single in 1967 that contained two original compositions. Its A-side, "Don't Follow Me," delivered raw folk-rock with a hint of Paul Revere & the Raiders, while the flip side "Can't You See" stayed within conventional garage rock territory. "Don't Follow Me" later surfaced on Highs in the Mid Sixties, Vol. 10, and both tracks appeared on the CD compilation Garagemental!: The Cuca Records Story, Vol. 2. That anthology also introduced two previously unreleased recordings by the group, the Paul Revere/very early Guess Who-like "Keep Me Hangin' On" and the jangly garage folk-rocker "In This World I Need Love."
