Tigers

The ska revival sparked by the Specials triggered a wave of copycat groups across Britain, one of which was the Tigers. An improbable rhythm section defined the band, consisting of blues rocker Pete Dobson on drums (late of Juicy Lucy), Nic Potter, and Guy Evans on bass (the latter pair both ex–Van Der Graaf Generator). London was the site of the group’s formation, completed by guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Tony Jacks, guitarist/vocalist Ross McGeeney, and keyboardist Nicholas Cola; A&M put out their lone LP, Savage Music, in 1980.
