Biography
Tomas Nordmark crafts atmospheric pieces that delve into nature, humanity, and unknown realms. His output has surfaced across varied contexts including public installations, live theater, and opera, shaped by the goal of generating emotional signals through instrumental film-score techniques. The year 2019 saw the arrival of his first full-length release, Eternal Words.
A native of Västervik, Sweden, Nordmark completed coursework in Audio Culture and Contemporary Art at the University of Linköping before beginning work as a composer. Drawing on reference points such as Tim Hecker, Arthur Russell, and Jóhann Jóhannsson, he supplied music for numerous public venues and occasions in his adopted city of London ahead of committing to a solo album. Valley of Search issued Eternal Words in early 2019. Mid-2021 brought Exit Ghosts on the same imprint, again merging ambient electronic and processed acoustic textures.
