Biography
Tony Jelencovich, singer and guitarist in B-Thong, launched Transport League as a side project together with bassist Johan Reivén and drummer Lars Häglund. Once the group tracked its debut album, Stallion Showcase, in 1995, the endeavor turned into a full-time commitment for everyone involved. Drawing on Kyuss, Fu Manchu, and Led Zeppelin for inspiration, the band soon added guitarist Peter Hunyadi, then overhauled the rhythm section by bringing in bassist Ken Sandin and drummer Patrik Herrström ahead of recording its second album, Superevil, in 1997. Issued globally the following year on the Music Cartel label, that record sparked extensive touring, among which was an appearance at the Dynamo Open Air Festival that summer. The third full-length, Satanic Panic, appeared in February 2000, followed in 2003 by Multiple Organ Harvest and the six-track EP Grand Amputation. After disbanding in 2005, the members regrouped in 2009 and started writing fresh material. The opening single from those sessions, “Speed Head,” surfaced in early 2011, and the resulting album, Boogie from Hell, came out in 2013. A further studio effort, Napalm Bats & Suicide Dogs, arrived in late 2015.
