True Love

Drawing from influences including Cheap Trick, Elvis Costello, and other icons of 1970s melodic pop, the New Jersey-based rock group True Love showcases the songwriting and vocal abilities of Ray Kubian, Keith Hartel, and the Squirrel. The trio came together in 1999, driven in part by shared frustration with the collapse of their earlier projects, and issued a self-titled debut on Cropduster in 2001. In 2002 True Love supported one of its heroes, Television guitarist Richard Lloyd. Not Lame Records put out the band’s second album, I Was Accident, in 2003, with Wings arriving three years after that.
