David Tort launched his professional path in 1988, motivated by techno, electro, and tribal influences he sought to share with audiences in his native Sitges, Spain. Early efforts found him producing original acid house and industrial material while also handling remixes for Vale Music artists, though nearly a decade elapsed before he established himself as a house DJ. In 2001 he partnered with Toni Bali and Carlo Caesar to found the Elestudiodigital studio. Recording together as Drummers of Love, the trio issued the single “Drums of Love,” whose international success led Tort to begin extensive club touring and new label associations that included Weekend Records, Sutil Records, and House Works. October 2004 marked the opening of his Overbooking Studio, where the following year he joined Francesco Farfa to co-write “Acidazzo,” the lead single from Farfa’s debut album Human Bridge. That same year he initiated a collaboration with DJ Ruff in Los Angeles, creating club tracks and music for television commercials. Expanding further, he pursued additional multimedia projects while hosting radio shows on Loca FM in Madrid and CB FM in Barcelona. Early in 2008 Deejay Mag recognized him as the best DJ remixer of 2007, at which point he scheduled new remix releases with DJ Disciple.
