Chilean death metal foursome Undercroft emerged onto the local scene in 1991. They laid down ...To the Final Battle in 1993 before following it with Demons Awake, Revenge Is Near the next year. Also in 1994 the group opened for German Kreator and subsequently shared stages with Swedish Therion in Argentina. Their debut album, Twisted Souls, appeared in 1995. In May 1996 Undercroft supported the Florida-based heavy metal/death metal act Morbid Angel in Santiago de Chile during that band’s South American tour. April 1997 saw the release of the second album, BoneBreaker, which enabled the quartet to begin touring throughout the country. Redemolition came out in 1998. Shortly afterward singer Tito Merlin and bassist Marco Medina departed, with ex-Radical bass player Rodrigo Oneto stepping in to fill the vacancy.
