Biography
Váradi Roma Café operates as a Hungarian gypsy jazz ensemble that has issued multiple albums, several of which achieved notable popularity. Its lineup features Váradi Gyula handling vocals, Váradi Róbert also on vocals, Berki Artúr at the piano, Botos Tibor on guitar, Váradi Gyula, Jr. (known as Pepe) supplying vocals, and Váradi Róbert, Jr. (known as Olasz) at the piano. Among the ensemble’s initial releases stand Járok-kelek a Világban from 2003 and Szeress Még! from 2004. The 2007 Sony BMG album Isten Hozott a Családban! proved particularly successful and contains the single “Umbala-umba,” which received its own promotional video. Espresso followed in 2008 and likewise registered strong commercial impact.
