Vieja Trova Santiaguera

A quintet of Cuban musicians with prior experience in groups including Cuarteto Patria, El Dúo de los Compadres, and la Estudiantina Invasora came together as Vieja Trova Santiaguera. Their signature approach fused son, guaracha, and bolero into a distinctive sound. Reinaldo Creagh, Francisco Cobas, Aristóteles Limonta, Ricardo de los Santos, and Reinaldo Hierrezuelo carried that repertoire across Latin America and earned recognition well beyond Cuba. The ensemble launched a tour of Spain, Germany, and France in 1995. Positive response prompted a second European visit the next year. Entering the new millennium after the release of Dominó, Vieja Trova Santiaguera received a nomination from the Spanish AFYVE Association for the Fourth Annual Amigo Awards.
