Biography
Kone Idrissa assembled the ensemble in 1964, at first concentrating on Cuban rhythms before weaving in local Bobo elements. Its most fertile creative period and widest audience arrived between 1967 and 1972, when the musicians toured nearby countries and captured the bulk of their discography. In 1977 a revised roster returned to the studio for further sessions.
