Biography
Formed in the middle of the 1980s, Waysted represented a fleeting and little-known heavy metal ensemble hailing from Britain. Pete Way, previously the bassist in UFO, fronted the act, which accounts for its distinctive moniker. The initial roster featured Paul Raymond, a guitarist and keyboardist who had also played with UFO, alongside Ronnie Kayfield on guitar, Frank Noon handling drums, and Fin providing vocals. Throughout the ensemble's short existence, personnel shifted frequently, leaving Way as the sole unchanging participant. During this period, Waysted put out four records: Vices in 1983, a self-titled effort the following year, The Good, the Bad, the Waysted in 1985, and Save Your Prayer in 1986. They also served as support acts on tours with prominent 1980s metal stadium draws including Dio and Iron Maiden. Dissolution came soon after their last release, though Way later appeared once more alongside a reformed UFO during the mid-1990s.
