Biography

Originating in Vasc, Spain, We Are Standard assembled Deu Txakartegi, Javi Leta (formerly of Inquilino Comunista), Londonboy, Jon Aguirrezabalaga, and Juan Escribano. Their approach fused sharp-angled indie rock that recalled the Sunshine Underground with a raw alternative dance edge reminiscent of indie electronic outfits such as tHe pEneLOpe[s]. The Chicago-based Mintyfresh label issued the group’s debut album, 3000V-40000W, in 2007.
