Biography
Wrathchild America operated as a capable yet largely derivative thrash metal quartet whose lineup included vocalist and bassist Brad Divens alongside guitarists Jay Abbene and Terry Carter plus drummer Shannon Larkin. Their debut album Climbin' the Walls arrived in 1989 and arrived at the waning phase of the thrash metal surge, earning favorable notices yet failing to reach a broad listenership. Atlantic Records let the group go shortly after the follow-up 3-D appeared, prompting a brief rename to Souls at Zero ahead of a permanent split. Larkin later resurfaced in a heavy metal context by joining the irreverent crew known as Ugly Kid Joe.
