Biography
AMWIN, the Swedish pop singer celebrated for her candid lyricism and infectious left-field pop steeped in R&B grooves, first gained notice under her birth name Amanda Winberg. She appeared as a contestant on the 2015 edition of Idol, issuing several singles as Winberg before resurfacing in 2019 under the AMWIN moniker with her initial EP.
From her origins on the Särö peninsula south of Gothenburg, Winberg drew widespread attention by finishing second in the Swedish Idol competition. A string of pop releases followed in 2016, among them the tracks “Goodbye” and “Shutdown.” She resurfaced two years later under the shortened AMWIN alias—an abbreviation of her given and family names—and delivered the singles “Uber” and “Living Mistake,” both marked by a more direct and daring approach to songwriting. These cuts, together with the hooky love song “Dua Lipa” that nods to the British pop star, formed the core of her 2019 debut EP AMWIN in Wonderland.
