...And Oceans came together in 1995, drawing from various pockets of Finland’s black metal underground. Their first official release arrived in 1998 with Dynamic Gallery of Thoughts on Season of Mist, followed the next year by The Symmetry of 1 - The Circle of O. The group then moved to Century Media and issued A.M. G.O.D.: Allotropic/Metamorphic-Genesis of Dimorphism in 2001, gaining visibility by joining Marduk, Vader, and Mortician on a European tour. June 2002 brought Cypher, which showcased their most developed fusion yet of grind, thrash, symphonic, and ambient elements. Outside ...And Oceans, members also played in lighter side projects including Rotten Sound, Deathbound, and 6 Billion Ways to Die.
