Andre Gagnon, recognized as both a classical musician and composer, first approached the piano well before reaching school age. Born in Quebec during 1942, he traveled to Paris at nineteen to pursue studies supported by a grant from the Canadian government. Following his return to Canada, he spent seven years collaborating with Claude Leveillee. He subsequently launched a solo career that took him to London, where he recorded with the London Baroque Orchestra, and later worked with the Hamburg Philharmonic Orchestra. Across more than twenty albums issued from 1964 to 1993, Neiges (1976) achieved the greatest success as a bestseller and recipient of a Canadian Juno Award. Gagnon has also recorded in the disco and pop fields.
