Early 2000s acclaim from the global glitch-techno community came to Swedish producer Andreas Tilliander through his steady stream of inventive work. Drawn to hip-hop inflections, he first built a following right in Stockholm before placing material on modest yet notable European imprints such as Klanggalerie and Komplott. Larger platforms soon followed, including Raster-Noton and Mille Plateaux. During those years he issued recordings under several aliases—Mokira, Komp, Rechord, Lowfour, and others—yet reached his widest audience when recording under his own name for Mille Plateaux. The label’s 2001 release Ljud generated immediate excitement throughout the glitch-techno community with its singular approach, separating Tilliander from his peers and sustaining attention through his ongoing productivity. One year later, Mille Plateaux issued the follow-up Elit (2002), at which point he had secured a position in the scene comparable to the earlier standing of Vladislav Delay and Kid 606.
