Biography
New Zealand producer Andrew Thomas delivered a run of only 100 copies of So You Wanna Be a (Death) Star through Involve well before his 2003 full-length Fearsome Jewel surfaced on Kompakt. That first release for the Cologne imprint represented a clear advance beyond his little-known debut, whose glitch-inflected character gave way to pieces that generally sat between Ulf Lohmann’s Because Before and Dettinger’s Oasis. Entry into the label’s pop ambient circle proved seamless.
