Aqua Timez

Formed over the internet, the J-Pop band Aqua Timez landed a recording contract with Sony and developed an ongoing involvement supplying material for the Bleach manga and anime series in addition to issuing their own albums and mini-albums. The group’s members include Futoshi on vocals, Okp-Star on bass, Mayuko on keys, Daisuke on guitars, and Tasshi on drums.

They produced nothing under the original spelling Aqua Times, yet after replacing the final “s” with a “z,” they delivered their debut mini-album Sora Ippai Ni Kanaderu Inori in 2005. The following year brought another mini-album and their first full-length release, Kaze Wo Atsumete, as well as their earliest contribution to the Bleach soundtrack.

That album performed well, prompting the band to issue their second studio album, the top-twenty Darekano Chijyoe, in 2007 while again supplying music for Bleach.
