Biography
Originating from the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, musician, singer, and producer Jean Ariel Sre—professionally known as Ariel Sheney—first earned notice as an arranger for fellow Ivorian and coupé-décalé superstar DJ Arafat, then launched his solo career in the late 2010s. His sound fuses percussive Afropop, R&B, zouglou, and ndombolo, a combination showcased on the 2015 release of his debut full-length album, Dis-moi Master. Breakthrough arrived in 2018 with the single "Sympa," followed in 2019 by the track "Amina," both issued after he signed a long-term agreement with Sony Music Entertainment. Two further singles reached audiences the next year: "Mon Coupé Décalé" and "Danger (Freestyle)."
