Serge Beynaud, an Ivorian singer, songwriter, and producer, first drew widespread notice in 2012 through his debut album Seul Dieu, then secured a leading position within the coupé-décalé genre three years afterward via the hit single "Fouinta Fouinte." Born in Yopougon, located in the southeastern section of Abidjan, he began experimenting with music at age seven and moved into live performances and studio work during his teenage years. Although the 2012 release Seul Dieu presented listeners with his polished, melody-focused take on coupé-décalé, it was the follow-up full-length Talehi in 2014 that elevated him to stardom. Comparable praise greeted his third album, Accelerate, issued in 2017, which showcased guest appearances by prominent Ivorian figures including Diamond Platnumz, Krys, and Iyanya; the same pattern held for the 2020 EP Trilogie, whose standout track "Mundala" featured Didi B and Elow'n.
