Black Rob

Black Rob launched his recording path as a Bad Boy Records artist by contributing to releases including the Cru’s Da Dirty 30 and by teaming with L.O.X., Busta Rhymes, Lil’ Kim, and Total ahead of his debut album Life Story, which arrived in early 2000. That project showcased the hit single “Whoa!” together with appearances by L.O.X., Cheryl Riley, the Goodie Mob’s Cee-Lo, and Carl Thomas. Although the album attained platinum certification, fresh Black Rob tracks remained absent until late 2004, when most surfaced first on mixtapes hosted by DJ Kayslay. The official next album, The Black Rob Report, followed in 2005 on Bad Boy. After serving several years in prison, he resurfaced with Game Tested Streets Approved on the Duck Down label. Life Story 2 appeared in 2013, the same year he co-starred on the reality television series Comeback Kings. Black Rob died in Atlanta on April 17, 2021, from cardiac arrest at age 52.
