Biography
Originating from Halmstead, Sweden, Joakim Thell, Tobias Nilsson, and Thomas Elenvik each participated in several local metal groups before uniting in 1996 to form Blind Dog and pursue a 1970s retro-metal direction. Adding understated psychedelic textures to their Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin inspirations, the trio entered the studio in 1999 to lay down their debut full-length. Layering Hammond keyboards, film samples, and overdubbed parts throughout the sessions, they self-funded The Last Adventures of Captain Dog, which appeared later that same year.
