Biography
Blondshell fuses raw, introspective lyricism with a hard-edged alt-rock backbone that anchors her emotional delivery. The artist first surfaced through a series of 2022 singles, led by “Olympus,” which amassed millions of streams by year’s end. Following her signing to Partisan, she issued her self-titled debut album in the first months of 2023.
Sabrina Teitelbaum, born in New York City, had relocated to Los Angeles when she issued her initial recordings at age 24. “Olympus,” a track addressing both romantic and chemical dependency, was produced by Yves Rothman (Kim Gordon, Bartees Strange) and appeared independently in June 2022. After the song accumulated hundreds of thousands of streams, she issued further singles such as “Sepsis” and, in December, “Veronica Mars,” the latter serving as her introduction on Partisan Records. Blondshell opened 2023 by touring alongside Suki Waterhouse, then released the self-titled album in April. Also helmed by Yves Rothman and including the previously mentioned tracks, the record earned widespread critical praise and entered Billboard’s Top Current Albums Chart.
