Danish duo Bremer/McCoy craft instrumental pieces shaped by atmospheric jazz and dub textures. By blending acoustic instrumentation with electronic textures, they recall the unhurried ECM recordings of the 1970s associated with Keith Jarrett and Ralph Towner, alongside new age explorations by Mike Oldfield and Klaus Schulze. Active together since 2013, the pair first released material on Raske Plader with the albums Ordet in 2015 and Forsvinder in 2016. Broader recognition arrived once they joined the Luaka Bop roster, which issued Utopia in 2019, Natten in 2021, and Kosmos in 2024.

Operating from Copenhagen, the group centers on bassist Jonathan Bremer and keyboardist/tape delay artist Morten McCoy. Before the duo formed, Bremer worked extensively within the local jazz circuit, serving as house bassist at Montmartre and accompanying Niels Lan Doky, Gino Vannelli, and David Sanborn among others. McCoy, by contrast, honed his craft through reggae performance while also functioning as a DJ and concert promoter. Childhood friends who first connected over reggae and Jamaican traditions, the two soon ventured into wider territory, incorporating spacy modal jazz, dub, and neo-classical elements that surfaced on their 2013 debut Enhed. They additionally constructed a custom sound system for their live appearances. Subsequent Raske Plader releases continued with Ordet and Forsvinder.

The 2019 Luaka Bop debut Utopia extended their expansive fusion of classical and ambient jazz. The follow-up, Natten—Danish for “The Night”—appeared in October 2021. Their third album for the imprint, the delicately textured and dream-like Kosmos, emerged in September 2024.
