Broken Note, a London-based project, crafts a dynamic fusion of dubstep, drum'n'bass, and breakcore defined by ferocious rhythms and crushing low-end pressure. Thomas Southall-Andrews and Eddie Jefferys, the latter also active in 16 Bit, launched the act with the 2009 full-length Terminal Static, which quickly established them as fixtures across heavy bass circuits at clubs and festivals worldwide. Southall-Andrews later steered the project alone, delivering its sophomore album Exit the Void in 2019.

The outfit surfaced in 2008 with singles on Ad Noiseam and on Ruff and Damage, two imprints tied to Peace Off. Its debut album Terminal Static followed in 2009, reinforcing Broken Note's standing among the most ferocious voices in both the dubstep and drum'n'bass communities. The Flood EP and assorted singles, one of them a collaboration with Machine Code, surfaced on multiple labels throughout 2010. Tracks by Broken Note appeared regularly in Amon Tobin's ISAM Live performances from 2011 onward, and the duo supplied a remix of Tobin's "Goto 10." Ad Noiseam issued the Black Mirror EP in 2014. Following the label's closure in 2015, Broken Note moved its output to MethLab Recordings and aligned with the Slug Wife collective. The second album Exit the Void arrived in 2019.
