Biography
Outside his work recording with Ivy, Andy Chase cultivates an offbeat sonic identity through the Brookville project. He established Brookville during the closing years of the 1990s to explore his experimental, Euro-romantic textural approach. Encouraged by singer/songwriter Eric Matthews, the project completed several tracks prior to the turn of the millennium. Chase inaugurated his independent imprint Unfiltered in 2003 and issued Brookville’s first album, Wonderfully Nothing. Though framed as a solo endeavor, the record incorporated contributions from Matthews, James Iha, Jean-Pierre Ensuque of Autour de Lucie, Gigolo Aunts’ Jon Skibic, and They Might Be Giants bass player Danny Weinkauf.
