Bruce Daigrepont

Genre: International ,North American
Origin: U.S.A
Listen on Coda
Having openly embraced his place in the Cajun revival, Daigrepont once viewed the music as nothing more than the domain of his grandparents until the 1970s, when exposure to forward-looking figures such as Michael Doucet and Zachary Richard altered that outlook. Surprisingly, the singer and accordionist went on to shape a sound that proved more rooted in tradition than the work of those who had influenced him. By crafting his own songs and directing a cohesive group, he secured the endorsement of older practitioners as well as the regard of contemporaries.
