Cabruêra

The Brazilian experimental band Cabruêra came together in 1999 in Natal, also known as the City of the Sun, blending Afro-Brazilian rhythms, electric funk, folk-rock, and Middle Eastern sounds into an innovative approach to northern Brazil’s traditional local music. Their contribution to a live recording that also featured Elba Ramalho and Marinês, among other artists, led to Cabruêra’s acceptance at the Brazilian Pro Rock Festival 2000; this milestone prompted a European tour through England, Germany, Belgium, and Portugal plus the international release of a self-titled album.
