Biography
Caridad Cuervo’s passing in December 1998 deprived Cuba of one of its most cherished singers. Mentored from an early age by the celebrated Cuban performer Celia Cruz, she drew worldwide notice in the 1950s and early 1960s while serving as a featured vocalist at Havana’s Tropicana Club.
Cuervo remained deeply engaged in her work until her final days, completing a guest appearance on the Septeto Nacional album Mas Cuba Libres shortly before a brain seizure ended her life.
